Zodiac is a well executed real-life thriller set in a 20 year span, searching for the identity of the Zodiac killer. Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo star in a really succinct investigation of a serial killer. This killer is not the story one bit; the story is of the drama and torture to find a serial killer. It puts into question the sanity of the investigators, who are looking for the sanity of the killer. The supporting cast work very well. This film is a level under Oscar contention but it is still an extremely solid pic and may make some oscar waves. This film really keeps the audience going, and it doesnt forcefeed us anything and it doesn't feel pretentious either. It felt like an unpretentious contemporary detective drama.Director David Fincher really nails this one good and his cast make very efficient work of the screenplay. Good job to everyone. Grade: A-/B+
